Christmas is perhaps my most favourite time of year (despite the heat!). And this year to make the Christmas Season all the more joyful, I have been honoured with the request to be this month's GDT at the Blog of Art By Miran!
This month's theme was Silver and Gold.
I was supplied with their glorious Archangel. I wasn't sure if I was able to create an adequate setting for such a remarkable image but I hope I have done it some justice.
I used Copics to colour the Angel. I did record the colour combos I used whilst colouring but do you think I can find my list anywhere now I need it! Haha!
I covered a 12x12 inch wooden canvas with aluminium. I scrunched the foil up first and then carefully glued it down. Once dry I gave it a coat of Black Gesso.
I coloured the canvas using a mix Stampendous Embossing Enamels in Aged Teal and Aged Green and no brand Silver and Antique Gold embossing powders along with Tim Holtz's Distress Embossing powder in Blue Jeans.
Inka Gold Metallic rub was used in Cobalt Blue and Silver along with the Tim Holtz mask, Rays.
I painted a mix of flowers with White Gesso and covered them with a mix of Perfect Pearls in Platinum, Green Patina and Blue Patina.
I certainly enjoyed myself with making this piece. I certainly hope you like it!
