Don't worry! God has it under control.

I am really getting into Mixed Media Canvases!

I have had a lot of fun with texture paste and I used Tim Holtz re-filler and stain to colour the paste. So I had a try with a Prima Mask and pasted flowers all over the canvas. I did three layers and it took 24 hours for each layer to be totally dry. Mostly because I did it so thick! lol

Oh! The colours I used are Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive, Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany.
I inked the canvas with Distress Inks to create the background.

Since I was having so much fun with experimenting I made my own flowers! Yeppers! And if I can do it so can you!

I cut out 8 of the medium flower from Tim Holtz's Tattered Flowers die and one of the smallest flower.
Fold each blossom in half and then go to fold it in half again using a hot glue gun on the tip to keep it together as a quarter. Make sense?

Using the heat gun glue the tip of each petal onto the small flower, overlapping where necessary. Glue a KaiserCraft sparkle in the middle of the flower. And viola you have a flower!!!

I used a decoupage image of Simply Gorjuss to emphasis 'peace, rest and joy'.

I used the Scripture Luke 12: 22-31.

22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. 23 For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. 24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
27 “Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you—you of little faith! 29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

This is a lesson I need to remember often. So often I can feel out of control and get stressed out when bills come etc but ultimately God is the one in control and all is ok!

I hope you like it!

I am My Beloved's.

Hi everybody!

It has been a little while since I last posted but I have not been idle. In fact in the past 2-3 weeks I have made 2 canvases, a couple of layouts and cards for display at The Scrap N Patch as well as a KaiserCraft Storage Cupboard!

Today I want to share with you a canvas that I made last weekend, of which I am rather proud.

The inspiration for this canvas came from an image in my mind that I received upon listening to my two friends sing a song at church. They felt that the Lord wanted to restore us, so we were to relax and allow the Lord to show us how He loves us whilst they sand the David Crowder song Oh How He Loves Us.

The image I received was Jesus lifting me up and swirling me around in His loving embrace.

How remarkable it is that we can be and are loved with such a passion by our Lord!

Upon making this canvas I stamped the male figure with script to represent his being the Word of God.
I also attached a part of a Scripture verse from Song of Solomon. Chpt 6:3 - I am my Beloved's and my Beloved is mine.
This is something to certainly treasure and remember in hard times.

I had this scene take place on a bed of flowers. I had a giggle when I remembered the end of the verse - He browses among the lilies (or wildflowers). How apt.

I hope you like my canvas and are inspired to create something that represents your relationship with Jesus.
